DTS can monitor the surface temperature distribution of power transmission cable in culverts or buried underground longitudinally along the cable by attaching the optical fiber sensor on the cable.
Knowing the temperature distribution of power cable, it can assist the user to optimize the power transmission network performance, and also to detect abnormal heating and fire along the line.
